100 Dads, One Goal: Backing the Fendalton Flyers for Full Bellies

  • At Wolfbrook, we've always believed great neighbourhoods are shaped not only by the homes within them but by the people who show up for each other, especially when it matters most.

From a Handful of Mates to 100 Dads

The Fendalton Flyers Run Club started out as a small group of school dads meeting up for early morning runs around Hagley Park. Over time, that loop grew into a much bigger effort, with the group expanding to over 100 dads training together to take on the Christchurch Marathon, led by former All Black Colin Slade alongside an exceptional committee.

Their goal was to raise $100,000 for Full Bellies, a Christchurch charity that delivers nutritious lunches to children across the city who fall through the gaps of government lunch funding. By race day, that target had already been surpassed. The Fendalton Flyers have now raised over $160,000, turning kilometres run into meals for kids who need them.

    Why Full Bellies Matters

Full Bellies was founded in 2022 to tackle food insecurity in local schools, and it now delivers around 1,400 lunches a week to roughly 25 schools across Christchurch. For many of the children it supports, a Full Bellies lunch bag is the difference between showing up to class hungry and having the energy to learn, focus, and take part in their day. Every dollar raised goes directly toward that mission, with $100,000 alone enough to fund close to 12,000 lunches.

Standing Alongside People Making a Real Difference

At Wolfbrook, we're proud to stand alongside initiatives like this as principal partner, backing people who are putting in the work to make a genuine difference in their community. The Fendalton Flyers didn't set out to do something flashy. They set out to run together, support each other, and raise money for kids who needed it, and that combination of purpose and community is exactly the kind of effort we want to be part of.

    More Than a Property Developer

As Wolfbrook continues to grow, so does our commitment to supporting the wellbeing and connection of the communities we're proud to be part of. We're more than a property developer. We're a long term community partner, standing alongside the people making a real difference in Christchurch.

The fundraiser is now closed, but the impact isn't. Thanks to the Fendalton Flyers, the committee, and everyone who backed them, over $160,000 will go toward keeping Christchurch kids fed and ready to learn. A huge congratulations to everyone involved.
